Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl
Fall Knowledge Master Open
Hanover High School reclaimed the title of top scoring Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl team and finished among the nation's best in the 2007 Fall Knowledge Master Open.
The Marauders scored 1656 out of a possible 2000 points on the multiple-choice examination to finish 12th overall out of 748 teams from around the world. Hanover, which correctly answered 191 of the 200 questions, was the top scoring team in the league for the first time since the fall of 2005.
Champlain Valley was a strong second, placing 21st overall with 1629 points to rank as the top-scoring team in Vermont. Essex (1455 points, 103rd), South Burlington (1426, 128th), Burlington (1404, 152nd), Mt. Abraham (1388, 168th) and Rice (1372, 189th) also made the top 200 out of 10 participating Vermont schools.
Bergen County Academies from New Jersey won the overall championship with 1745 points.
