Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl
Fall Knowledge Master Open
Vermont teams turned in another strong performance in the Fall Knowledge Master Open in December of 2008, with half of the league's 10 participants finishing in the top 69 of an international field of 695 teams in the computerized, multiple-choice event.
Hanover led the way, answering 187 of 200 questions and scoring 1600 out of a possible 2000 points to place 20th overall. That was 21 points better than perennial KMO rival Champlain Valley, which plced 27th with 1579 points and 179 correct answers.
Chittenden County schools South Burlington (1508 points, 58th place), Burlington (1504, 60th) and Mt. Mansfild (1492, 69th) followed in a tight pack. For full Vermont results, see the table below.
State College Area High School of Pennsylvania won the overall championship with 1747 points.
