Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl
Fall Knowledge Master Open
Champlain Valley came out on top in a tight three-way race to be the Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl's top team in the Fall Knowledge Master Open in December of 2009.
The Redhawks scored 1560 out of possible 2000 points to finish 37th overall out of 695 teams in the computerized competition. They narrowly edged out rivals Hanover (42nd, 1553 points) and Essex (44th, 1549) for the top spot among Vermont teams.
South Burlington was fourth among the 11 Vermont teams with 1356 points, placing 169th overall.
Montgomery Blair High School of Silver Spring, Md., won the overall championship with 1797 points.
