Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl
Spring Knowledge Master Open
Champlain Valley cracked the overall top 10 as Vermont Scholars' Bowl teams turned in a strong showing in the Spring Knowledge Master Open in Apri of 2010.
The Redhawks correctly answered 181 of 200 questions and scored 1644 of 2,000 points to pace the Vermont participants for the second straight KMO. The ninth-place overall finish was the best by a Vermont team since CVU placed seventh in the Spring of 2007.
Hanover, which placed second to Phillips Exeter among New Hampshire teams, placed second among Vermont Scholars' Bowl teams with 1553 points. Essex, which defeated Hanover for the Scholars' Bowl state title, also cracked the overall top 100, scoring 1423 points for 94th place.
Torrey Pines High School of Rancho Sante Fe, Calif., won the national championship with 1800 points.
