Fall Hanover Round Robin
HANOVER, N.H. -- Tournament host Hanover High School captured its second title in as many events in the young season on October 26, 2002, running the table to win the Fall Hanover Round Robin.
The Marauders were the only team to post an unbeaten 10-0 record among the 22-team field in the preliminary round. In the playoffs, top-seeded Hanover A defeated Hanover B in the quarterfinals, arch-rival Lebanon (N.H.) A in the semifinals and Seton Hall Prep, which made the trip all the way from West Orange, N.J., in the championship game.
Seton Hall A was the second seed after going 9-1 in the prelims and beat Essex (7-3 in prelims) in the quarterfinals and third-seeded Seton Hall B in the semifinals to make the championship. In the quarterfinals, Seton Hall B (8-2 in prelims) knocked off Lebanon B (7-3 in prelims) and Lebanon A (7-3 in prelims) knocked off defending champion Burlington A (7-3 in the prelims).
Other teams advancing to the playoffs were Mount Anthony (7-3 in prelims) and wild-card team Burlington B (2-8). Playoff results and preliminary-round records for all Vermont teams are listed below.
