Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl
Spring Knowledge Master Open
Seven Vermont-NEA Scholars' Bowl teams competed and state finalists Burlington and Mt. Anthony both finished in the top 100 as the Spring Knowledge Master Open was held on April 19, 2001 at schools across the world.
Burlington correctly answered 189 of the 200 multiple-choice questions in the computerized test and finished with 1609 of a possible 2000 points to record the state's highest score for the eighth consecutive KMO. The state champion Seahorses finished in 28th place overall out of the 923 competing teams. Mt. Anthony scored 177 correct answers and 1500 points to finish second in the state and 94th overall.
New Hampshire state champion and Vermont semifinalist Hanover was third among Vermont Scholars' Bowl teams with 1473 points. Montpelier (1170 points), Spaulding (1069), Harwood (987) and Thetford (966) also competed. State College (PA) was the overall KMO champion with a total of 1773 points.
